We create a one-of-a-kind production for each couple, and for their families.  Every wedding is a unique event filled with unforgettable moments, and we will be there to document ALL of the events of your day.  

Parallel Media's talented team of experienced Cinematographers will capture these moments in a candid and artistic style, as they happen, without directing the action, so that when the edit process begins we can tell YOUR UNIQUE STORY.  We may at times suggest certain locations for better shots (near a window with natural light, or suggest places at your venue where we know we can get beautiful shots and angles), but our main concern is letting the flow of your day happen naturally.

Cathy Steffan (owner, cinematographer, editor) is the sole editor for our productions.  Post-production of your wedding film is where your story comes together.  Sound-design and audio are woven throughout to compliment the visual story telling.  Literally every single image is chosen and edited to tell the story of your day.  We do not outsourse this critically important part of your production.

With over a decade of experience in the production field and a BA in Media Study, Cathy has produced over 200 shows for television and taught Media Production and History.  Her documentary film work has been honored by the American Film and Video Festival, and is in the permanent collections of Columbia University, the Buffalo Museum of Science, and the Rhode Island School of Design.

Cathy's art films have been exhibited worldwide; at numerous art exhibitions and installations including:  Albright Knox Art Gallery • Bufffalo NY, Cinematheque • San Francisco CA, Film Forum • Los Angeles CA, Documenta IX • Kassel Germany,  Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center •Buffalo NY, Berlin Public Access • Berlin Germany.

She began filming weddings in 1999 using her documentary experience and creative talents to produce what has been described as cinematic art for her clients.  In her own words "The quality of my work and the reputation of my company means everything to me.  I feel honored when a couple chooses my company to document their day and creat a unique wedding story.  The true essence of the day is captured, both the small details and the significant events.  We take great pride in capturing these moments without altering the flow of the day.  I personally edit each wedding film to reflect the personalities and style of my clients".
